I am putting together a car kit intended for long-term storage, and I welcome any suggestions that you might have:1) I am not looking for long-term survival. I need a 3-5 day kit where my family would stay in our car until help arrives or until we are forced to go mobile. In my life, a likely survival scenario is being stranded on the side of the highway for a few days after a major storm shuts the area down.2) I am thinking about food like beef jerky, protein bars, trail mix, and electrolyte solutions. Am I missing any major items?3) For water, I am packing a bunch of 1L Fiji water bottles. Is there any issue with these? I live in a temperate climate and will store all of this in an air-tight Pelican case.Again, this is not long-term. My survival prep relies on keeping us more comfortable than alive, and I am also going to use our car as a shelter and beacon to SRT.Thanks for any help that you can offer. http://ift.tt/2eDCUex
