And it's not the one you think.My EDC: - Pocket knife. Just an old, little Kershaw my dad gave me. - Pen. Because penis mightier. - Lighter.- Handkerchief. I have two that I rotate.The handkerchief is what became the talk of management of the new place I work. Apparently, the reason for my handkerchief has been up for debate since I started, and I had no idea.Why I carry it: I've worked in foreign countries where bad things happen. A tourniquet, something to cry in, something to help hold a wound, etc. Something to sneeze in. It's probably, in my opinion, the most useful thing I carry.Why they think I carry it: To signal gay men as to which sexual acts I prefer. I switch between a red one and a blue one. They each have meanings depending upon which pocket I carry them in and the color. Wearing my red one in my right pocket means something like...I'm a submissive who likes fisting...or something.Again, I'm a female. Straight. I didn't think any signal I would send to a gay man would be heard.I was asked about my handkerchiefs, and I began to say how handy they are. My boss isn't one to really listen to someone, she was too excited to lay the news on me that I was signaling gay men for sex, and how much more informed she was about the gay community than I was.I just like my handkerchief.
