Going off the grid in Texas. Not sure about the location.

I've lost everything I worked for and want to truly test myself in the wilderness. I think it will help me find my confidence and self worth again. I figure now is the perfect time to do this seeing as I don't have anything anymore. I lived on a cattle ranch in my youth and I have a pretty good set of survival skills such as gardening, hunting and fishing to name a few. I've been doing my homework on a location to start my journey. But not having any luck in that department. I want to find a spot within 100 miles of Houston Texas that I won't be bothered by rangers or campers. Any advice or suggestions on this matter would be greatly appreciated. http://ift.tt/2fxOCse
