Hey everyone! I'm currently in Northern Italy, and being in Europe I completely forgot about bears or wolves I would otherwise worry about back in the American West, where I'd sometimes camp near Yellowstone area. I picked a random nearby mountain to hike and camp in, and damn was it beautiful.Things took a turn for the worse, however, when me and a friend heard crunching twigs and leaves from multiple directions. I took out my pocketknife, the only thing I had to defend ourselves, and listen to the noises surrounding us for about 20 minutes. It got closer and closer, until we heard what was undoubtedly a loud pig squeal about 30 feet to the west. Knowing a little about the dangers of wild boar, me and my friend literally sprinted and slid down the mountain. We ran for our lives. I lost my jacket and pocketknife; my friend lost his hat and glasses.Aside from the wild boar incident, I had one hell of a time and would like to go camping again very soon. How can I know whether a mountain may have dangerous wildlife or not? http://ift.tt/2fNqGkO
